Armored vehicles are military vehicles that have been specifically designed and built to withstand attacks from small arms fire, explosives, and other battlefield hazards. They are typically heavily armored and equipped with weapons, communication systems, and other technologies that allow them to operate effectively on the battlefield. 

Types

  • Tanks: Tanks are heavily armored and armed vehicles designed for offensive and defensive operations. They have powerful guns and can withstand small arms fire and artillery shells. There are several types of tanks, including main battle tanks, light tanks, and infantry support tanks.
  • Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs): IFVs are designed to transport infantry into combat while providing them with protection and firepower. They are armed with heavy machine guns, automatic cannons, and sometimes anti-tank-guided missiles.
  • Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs): APCs are armored vehicles used to transport soldiers and equipment across the battlefield. They offer protection from small arms fire and shrapnel, but generally, have lighter armor and weapons than tanks and IFVs.
  • Self-Propelled Artillery: Self-propelled artillery is an armored vehicle equipped with a large caliber gun used to support ground troops. These vehicles can operate independently or as part of an artillery battery.
  • Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicles: MRAP vehicles are armored vehicles designed to protect against roadside bombs and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). They have V-shaped hulls and other features that deflect the blast away from the crew compartment.
  • Special Operations Vehicles: Special Operations Vehicles are armored vehicles designed for special operations missions, such as reconnaissance, surveillance, and direct action. These vehicles are often highly mobile and have low profiles to reduce their visibility.
